| Description: | At the crossroads of bordering areas and meeting points of diverse peoples, reflections on national identity bloom magnificently. The Mexico-U.S. borderline arises as a symbolic landmark of the Hispanic-American/Anglo-American "encounter and dis-encounter." However, thanks to the literary production of Carlos Fuentes, particularly in La frontera de cristal, such a border is rearranged into a space to solve Latin American identity issues, if migration is understood as a hybridization/crossbreeding phenomenon that prevails over and above the concepts of nationality and identity. With this material, Fuentes pulls together a nine-story novel, alluding to his own proposal of new models to understand reality and fiction. |
