Descripción:To aboard the issue of single-parent families is to talk about a diversity of families, their multiple "internal" and "external" factors, and this challenge is not a simple matter. The purpose of this study is to present a panoramic description and a "new" perspective about single-parent families, officially considered as "invisibles" and classified as "nuclear", "incomplete nuclear", or as "feminine headed households". Based in results of previous studies and official sources, we tried to calculate the rate of single-parent families in Mexico, as well as describe their characteristics and the formations factors. We compare these results with our own data, and propose a classification of them.
