Description:This article discusses the main epistemological, theoretical and methodological references that have guided the research on violence against women developed by Universidad de Costa Rica's Psychology School, in 1994-2020 period. There were analyzed more than forty undergraduate and graduate tesis in order to understand the psychological magnitude, dynamics and/or impact of violence against women in the country. Results point to the influence of the feminist epistemology in the conception of knowledge problems and the study relationship subject-object, as well as the ethical-political position of the researcher.
