Descripción: | The author presents the findings of a research project which was designed to diagnose the current state of the Venezuelan public university (VPU). the research project / it used dynamic diagnosis and structural analysis as the methodological tools for the elaboration of an anticipatory construct. The author focused the attention on the relationship between the VPU and its Social Prospective. The initial premise was that the VPU, as a resultant of a socio-historical evolution, is bound to a dynamic adjustment to continue functioning within that unstable environment. The social bases of its origin can be studied through comprehensive approaches; that includes the adequate qualitative parameters to ponder rupture risks and the deep changes of such an active society. Changes that have their own political, social and technological expressions. The author uses the hermeneutic method to take a closer look at the university’s reality and to interpret the findings of the dynamic diagnosis. It is possible, with the information obtained, to build some estimations for the year 2030. The most noticeable of them all is that the VPU has plenty of possibilities of enjoying a desirable future; even though, the opposite result -a catastrophic failure- will always be stalking. Therefore, the participation of every one of the VPU actors is necessary to guarantee a whole review of its structure; its mission of educating professionals; and its role as a knowledge diffuser. By doing so, the VPU will keep its leadership as a herald for the humanistic, scientific and technological development of the nation. |
