Critical factors in a technological extension. The case of Talamanca in the Regionalization Inter-university Program

Descripción:This article is aimed at identifying the critical factors that have allowed us to develop the extension socio-productive-technological in the Talamanca indigenous territory with funds of the regionalization program inter-university, administered by the Vice-rectory for Research and Extension. The Academic Model adopted in the III Congress of Institutional Technological Institute of Costa Rica defines and characterizes the extension. An extension designed as a respectful dialog with the national sectors and of mutual feedback whose actions must be based on interdisciplinarity,-institutionality, the communal leadership and academic excellence. Based on this framework and the experience developed from 2007 to 2012 in the Talamanca indigenous territory in the field of organic agriculture, sustainable tourism, environment and technology is identified four critical factors which are detailed. The community coordination, institutional coordination, planning and administrative management and strategic are the four factors that are considered key to promote a impact and therefore, a sustainability. This article is intended to motivate a discussion and conclusion poses as the need to formulate policies, mechanisms and strategies to encourage the extension and in particular, to strengthen the actions of the regionalization program Intercollegiate CONARE.
