| Deskribapena: | This paper estimates several uncertainty contributions associated with irradiation associated signal drift in pressed pellet analysis, as a proposal to overcome a previously thought crucial obstacle in XRF spectrometry. A model for sodium estimation was developed by incorporating uncertainty sources that are usually neglected, including: sodium drift in the pressed pellet, heterogeneity, binder, material loss, and storage time. For this work, we propose a model that uses the estimated uncertainties mentioned previously within the weighted matrix P and using the signal intensity (I ) as the independent variable and the concentration of the pellets (C) as the dependent variable, unlike the traditional calibration models for XRF. Thus, it is possible to overcome the problem of measuring drifting elements in organic based pressed pellets. We propose a practical and realistic uncertainty estimation that allows us to assess the results with both criteria (normalized error and relative error) without affecting considerably our best measurement capability (CMC). These results will contribute to the lack of information in the field in order to use the technique as a quantitative tool when using organic matrix pressed pellets. |
