Descripción:This article explores the impact of a university extension project implemented by the School of Language Sciences of the Costa Rican Institute of Technology, which focused on the development of reasoning and reading skills among young Costa Ricans and the integration of teachers from regions with socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds. By utilizing a combination of face-to-face and virtual workshops, supplemented with surveys and assessments, the project scrutinized the role of technological tools in refining teaching methodologies and gauging teachers’ perceptions and instructional practices. The findings indicate a positive trend towards embracing technology in the classroom and recognizing its pedagogical value. Nonetheless, the study also highlights considerable obstacles, among them the insufficiency of appropriate technological resources. The workshops demonstratedefficacy in bolstering reasoning and reading skills, as evidenced by substantial teacher involvement and affirmative feedback. The research highlights the critical need for ongoing support in incorporating educational technologies to create more engaging and effective educational experiences.
