Description:Logistics encompasses a wide range of operations important for the transfer of goods, services, and information. Due to this inherent complexity of the sector, techniques and methods are studied and proposed to contribute to continuous improvement and the development of new environments for efficient and productive operations. Therefore, the objective of this study was to analyze and compare the operational efficiency of logistics companies operating in the Araripe gypsum center, located in northeastern Brazil, using Data Envelopment Analysis. Considering the data associated with the BSC performance indicators collected for the analysis, the BCC model (proposed by Banker et al., 1984) was chosen, which is input-oriented. Based on the data entered into the software and considering the BCC-input model, the efficiency frontier was created for graphical visualization and analysis of the performance of the sample companies. Data were obtained on classical efficiency, inverted efficiency, as well as compound and normalized efficiency. In the case of the inputs and outputs considered, the DEA can contribute to management from a new perspective through the formulation of efficiency policies and learning from best practices.
