Descripción:The University of Costa Rica has developed a humanistic education program that serves as the distinctive hallmark of professionals educated in this institution. This program is realized through the General Education System, which comprises 4 key components: the General Education System Council, the School of General Studies, National Reality Seminars, and University Community Work. This system represents a unique and original approach to the conception and structuring of humanistic education. While not exclusive to this university on a global scale, it is unique in terms of its specific configuration as the General Education System, and this article focuses precisely on this aspect. The foundations of the content presented here are based on the author’s 2020 doctoral thesis, documentary and field research from a humanistic and systemic approach, methodologically supported by the sequential transformative mixed design.
