The objective of this study was to determine if the variation was present in the corpus of manuals. As a result of this analysis, a series of reference French characteristics are described, among which are a language model with a homogeneous grammar, based on what is written, in which the teaching of grammatical and lexical content prevails, and the French culture is the benchmark. In conclusion the diaphasic variation is the one that is most explicitly present in the corpus of manuals. The reference French characteristics presented may constitute a basis for future discussions on this language teaching models in Costa Rica.
