Descripción:The concept of educational innovation in reading studies is not completely defined. In this sense, it is necessary to clarify what is understood as an educational innovation in reading research. Based on this, the objective of the present work is to classify reading studies that are self-described as innovations. A systematic review was carried out. For this purpose, it was considered that the research should be on educational innovation in reading and that it should have been carried out in Ibero-America. The search words "educational innovation" and "reading" were used. Taking into account these findings, it is evident that the main line of production in the line of reading studies is reading didactics. To a lesser extent, there has been production on theoretical or pedagogical aspects. It is evident, on the other hand, that the production in educational innovation of reading in terms of curricular and institutional aspects is almost null. The article concludes by summarizing what is understood as educational innovation in the scientific production in the field of reading.
