The Act of Creation, an Approach Route to the Human Psyche and the Psychosis Treatment

Descripción:This paper is a result of the development of a mental health support project that was developed with the participation of a group of students of the University of Costa Rica, who had been diagnosed with a metal condition related to psychosis and who used the services of the “Oficina de Bienestar y Salud” (health and wellbeing office) of the Rodrigo Facio Campus. The project was implemented to identify the effects of an art therapy group intervention with this group of students. The article presents a discussion of the main clinical effects of the creative act, the therapeutic impacts of group therapy, and the role of the creative act on the abilities development process. The results are analyzed based on the contributions of art therapy and psychoanalysis.
