Descripción: | The impact of ICTs in Ecuadorian education has been evidenced in the improvement of connectivity and technological equipment in educational institutions, which represents significant progress. However, despite these achievements, challenges persist in terms of equitable access to technology, considering the needs and characteristics of the student body. Educational management must propose effective and contextualized responses to these problems. The study involved teachers in active service and coordinators of the institution in which the study was conducted, using a phenomenological design to understand the experience of the participants in relation to management and the use of ICT in education, based on the competencies of the UNESCO Digital Competencies Framework. The results revealed a lack of equity in ICT use policies, with the unequal distribution of technological resources limiting equitable access to digital education. This underscores the need for more flexible policies tailored to the needs of the educational community. Additionally, the importance of access to information and training to improve the digital skills of educational personnel was discussed, as well as the need to overcome limited connectivity and the lack of adequate devices. In conclusion, the study highlighted the importance of implementing policies to overcome these technological barriers and ensure quality education in the digital era through training, support, and efficient management. |
