Descripción: | In the following paper there is a presentation of the theory of comets both the one from Galileo and the one from Grassi with a few of the arguments used in their debate in the context of the copernican, ptolemaic and tychonic systems. Afterwards it deals with the problems of Galileo and The Jesuits. Finally it will be argued that the aggressive reaction of Galileo and his theory of comets were actually a bad attempt to defend copernicanism at time where he was forbidden to speak about it. |
