Descripción:The study’s objective is to test the effect of implementation on the Support Platform for Educators (SWAD) as a method for competitive learning. Two groups participated: GE (n: 111) and GV (n: 114), both groups of students were from the University of Granada (Spain). The questionnaire used closed questions, validated specifically for the study with high reliability. In addition, qualitative data was obtained through the portfolio, constructed during the course as a tool for competitive professional learning. The descriptive analysis took into consideration a range from 1 to 5, and presented expectations and high assessments, 4.13 (0.88), and the analysis, by contrast, demonstrated significant differences (p ≤ 0.05) between initial expectations and final assessments in all items of the questionnaire, which indicated a good view of students involved in this type of methodology, and strengthened the idea that this type of methodological strategy is valid for the development of competitive professional training. The qualitative results highlighted that the methodology favored communication abilities in written form and the use of computers, improving individual work capacity through active learning and developing a capacity for document analysis and synthesis.
