| Descripción: | The study of geometric transformations in the plane occupies an increasingly important place in the Mathematics programs of basic general education in various countries. The concepts and techniques involved do not correspond, in general, to the classical themes at that educational level. This means that teachers often show reluctance when facing classroom work in relation to this issue. Here some ideas that may be useful to teachers in teaching/learning of transformations in the plane are presented. The problem-solving approach is emphasized, as well as the use of constructions with ruler and compass, which can be performed in an equivalent way with dynamic geometry software through the use of lines and circles, as a means of understanding the general concept of symmetry. |
