Descripción:This work studies the evolution of pressures from international organizations on the processes of commodification and privatization in university education in Costa Rica, which, under a common core of reforms, promise to solve educational crises. These guidelines are part of the imperial plan on Latin America directed especially by Washington, to which the states and universities have submitted, and which are based on the reduction of state investment, the weakening of the University Autonomy, the promotion of reforms curriculars, the diversification of financing, the promotion of the private educational sector, among others, which detracts from the social value of university education to prioritize its economic value as a market good.
