Description:The main purpose of this research was to determine the type of asphalt required for performance grade (Superpave PG) for Nicaragua's road network. According to that, the performance grade of asphalt cement type AC-30, typically used, was determined. Also, statistical analysis of high and intermediate air temperatures were conducted to be correlated with surface temperature and be reflected in maps of performance degrees required for asphalt cement in the country. A performance degree of PG 64 - (25) was obtained, which is appropriate for the whole country, because it meets the pavement temperature range represented in the zoning maps of asphalt cement considering the high and intermediate temperatures.
