| Descrizione: | This article reflects on the value of gastronomy as a psychotherapeutic tool within creative mediation therapy, particularly in interventions with children and adolescents in contexts of psychosocial risk. Based on an interdisciplinary approach that integrates contributions from psychoanalysis, anthropology, sociology, and philosophy, it proposes that cooking can function as an alternative symbolic and emotional language, facilitating affective expression, identity construction, the strengthening of social bonds, and the development of life projects. It also analyzes a community-based experience carried out in Costa Rica through culinary therapy workshops, whose results show benefits in the promotion and prevention of children's mental health. The discussion highlights that gastronomy, as a practice rich in cultural and subjective meaning, enables sensitive, creative, and meaningful interventions in complex psychological processes. It concludes that incorporating gastronomy as a therapeutic mediator enriches the available languages in clinical and community psychology, especially when verbal expression has been limited, opening pathways to new forms of care, subjectivation, and meaning-making. |
