Descripción:The purpose of this article is to argue that evaluation and accreditation are not a neutral processes. It is very important to analyze the political dimensions of higher education evaluation and accreditation processes taking into account the peculiarities of the interrelationship between State and Education. Those peculiarities are an old topic that has been debated at length, but the classic formulations are deeply misleading specially when they are applied to the particular historical moment determined by the neoliberal globalization we are experiencing. There is a pressing need to reconsider the political dimension of evaluation and accreditation within the interaction of Sate and Education at this particular historical moment.
