Descripción:Biodegradation of sea turtle grass and its energy flow throughout the food chain via detritus exhibits a close relationship to the surrounding sedimentary substratum. The chemical composition of the biotic and abiotic material was analyzed and evaluated by its chemical proportions. The formulas derived from these studies show that there is a remarkable chemical difference between leaves and rhizonies, a simultancous gradual decrease of nitrogen and an increasing amount of organic oligoclements in the sediments.
