Descripción:Between 1974 and 1978 the theory of Mathematical Situations has allowed to observe and model the local effects of the systematic use of tests of academic achievement on the instructional decisions of teachers of mathematics and also the effects of these decisions on the achievements themselves. The model would foresee certain consequences of the repetition of the process: under-evaluate the results, boxing in behavioral methods, the actual reduction in pupil competence and in response the growing pressure that is exerted on the actors, teachers, students and parents, and replenish the process. The result of these early studies was reported to the Interamerican Conference on Mathematics Education in 1979. Subsequently, the model has been applied to other domains and other education stakeholders. The involvement of various scientific institutions, and also social policies in education, has amplified the effects of these phenomena through a multitude of propositions and inappropriate reforms, which always lead to more individualized and more psychological explanations and solutions, and always more difficulties. These new findings were presented to the scientific community at ICME 1996 in Seville. The phenomenon has taken on proportions that lead to find solutions today increasingly radical and off the focal point of education: the didactical situation of a specific cognitive content under certain conditions. Today, retroinnovators believe they can “restore” the “initial” conditions by the exacerbated use of these tests, an use we believe is associated with stronger coercions and reject all reforms and progress made since the last thirty years.
