Descripción:When the curricular change proposed by the Ministry of Public Education (MEP) in primary and secondary education in Costa Rica was implemented using problem solving as the main methodology, we wanted to interpret didactic tendencies in solving problems that underlie the curriculum. The research was developed within the interpretative paradigm and is qualitative. Through a documentary analysis using an instrument made by Carrillo and Contreras (1998) allowed us to conclude that the predominant didactic tendency is the investigative. The importance of showing this type of result is that spaces of self-reflection are opened between teachers and teachers about their action inside and outside the classroom in order to comply with what MEP desires.
