Descripción:Two sets of hypothetical arguments formulated with the previous research carried out during the 20th Century are contrasted based on recent radiocarbon data of constructive processes in Guayabo National Monument. Caribbean Watershed of Costa Rica is contextualized with the archaeological sites for wich radiometric data are available and the results of recent excavations in Guayabo are exposed doing the calibration of conventional radiocarbon ages to determine if the pre-Columbian constructions are grouped or not through time. This is intended to contribute with empirical data about the conditions in which the phenomenon of pre-Columbian social hierarchy was manifested in this region of southern Central America.
