Descripción:The author shares the results of an internal evaluation process that was carried out by a school for Special Education in Chile in order to improve supervisory staff management performance. The assessment is based on the document, A Framework for Good Management in A Dimension of Leadership published by the Chilean Ministry of Education in 2005.  The individuals who were assessed showed similar results in terms of management performance.  All proved to foster positive changes in the school in terms of optimizing communication channels, providing timely resolution of conflicts and use of information to strengthen the school community. As a result, institutional leaders were more capable of critical reflection on their own performance. The School Principal, for example, used the results of her own assessment to lead enhancement efforts to better reflect the School´s broader pedagogical mission. Participants commended this nontraditional evaluation style since it allowed them to focus on the importance of critical self-assessment of their own performance and use the results to foster positive change and growth and, eventually, also engage the teaching faculty.
