Description:A field study was carried out in order to evaluate a two-dimensional model on the content of stereotypical preferences recently proposed by Fiske, Cudy, Glick and Xu (2002). According to the authors, the bases for many stereotypical attributions are classified in two basic dimensions: warmth and skill. Participants in the study (N = 56) answered a questionnaire on preferences about the warmth and skill of 5 groups of immigrants in Costa Rica (Nicaraguans, Panamanians, Colombians, Americans and Chinese). The results of this study allow us to map the dimensions of warmth and skill of these immigrant groups and for classifying 3 groups of immigrants based on stereotypical perceptions as paternalism, contempt, envy and admiration. This study, together with that of Smith & Pérez (2007) presented the first maps of the stereotype in Costa Rica
