Descripción:This paper examines the scope of the discussions proposed by some Costa Rican economists using the concept of rent-seeking and makes extensive use of the concept to analyze a particular case: the practices of the institutions of the new model badges liberalization: Fundación Omar Dengo, to prove the correctness of the statements of Costa Rican economists, in the sense that competition eliminates rent-seeking practices. The phenomenon of rent seeking was a phenomenon exclusive to the import substitution model or is it a form of usufruct extend the liberalization model?. And if this form of exploitation is extended to the new model: Who are the new renters in the Costa Rica of competition and what mechanisms they use to produce your income?.
