Miêu tả:Toponymic research is a useful tool in the study of ethnolinguistic heritage and confirmation of cultural diversity. The identification of the origins and changes in geographic names enables us to understand the influences of diverse population groups, settled in a specific territory, power relationships within the group and their concept of nature. This article compose an ethnolinguistic analysis of Creole toponyms of English origins in Limón. They represent a minority of toponyms in comparison with those originating in other languages. They tend to be associated with flora and fauna and the natural elements. Toponyms sustitution is a common feature in the region and the oficial nomenclature co-exists with local popular names.
