Descrição:This article attempts to offer a preliminary approach to the discussed but hardly analyzed topic of Costa Rican literary tradition: the translations of the texts by Carlos Luis Fallas, one of the most relevant figures of the 1940's generation. The two European political conjuctures that promoted the proliferation of Latin American writers' translations during the Second World War post- war period are explored here.
