Descripción: | The purpose of this study was to identify the exogenous and endogenous variables associated to the students's academic performance in the Mathematics Secondary Education Test administered to students in Costa Rican public school during 2004. The statistical results of the multilevel model validated the association of some variables that are exogenous to the institution, to the faculty and its relation with the students; as well as the academic historical records and the family context at the endogenous level factors. This study must be considered as an approach to an extremely complex educational phenomenon such as the academic performance in Mathematics. |
