Descripción: | This essay examines the notions of borderlands and fragmentation linked to the postmodern condition in the literary work of the Salvadorian author Claudia Hernández and within the frame of the postwar literature. These notions are represented by characters that portray the subjectivities of Salvadorian illegal migrants who were forced to leave their country and settle in cities like New York. The existential condition of these characters is permeated by the violence of marginalization and exclusion. |
