Opis:We intend to analyze the Oinochoe of Tagliatella in the context of the symbolism represented by its images, in relation to greek mythology, alluding to the homeric poems in which the trojan heroes later assimilated as founders of the city of Rome. This disposition goes beyond the simple reading of the illustrations of the vessel, because in the cosmogonic context shows us the myth of Creation, with the participation of their gods, in relation to the eternal return in which many civilizations coincided in their stories. We will see in his iconography elements related to the judgment of Paris and the apple of discord; war of Troy and foundation of Rome; rituals and warlike dances; Etruscan assimilation of the Greek and Roman culture of the Etruscan; sexuality and fertility; sacred numerology; presence of apotropaic animals; and the labyrinth charged with great symbolic connotations.
