Descripción:This essay presents a brief historical analysis of the characteristics of the first contacts between North American psychology and Soviet psychology. In this way, some aspects that permeated the consolidation of this relationship and its possible unfolding in the interpretation of Vygotsky's postulates are discussed, taking into account the concretization of Historical-Cultural Psychology and its influence in the Brazilian academic context. From this perspective, the objective of the following work is framed in the analysis of some research carried out in Brazil through hegemonic visions that base the understanding of Vygotskian concepts and their insertion in educational practices. By way of conclusion, some reflections are exposed that contribute to continue thinking about the importance of Vygotsky's legacy, considering that this is not a finished work but a process of permanent search for new readings and approaches in the contemporary scientific scenario.
