Description:The Costa Rican economy, in recent years, has shown superior economic growth to that of Central America and Latin America.  The economic changes experienced have caused the commercial and manufacturing base to diversify the areas of professional services, technicians, scientists, administrative, health activities and social help services.  The private sectors dedicated to exports and international commerce have generated mercantile and trade shipments, bettering processes and services, through use of specialized logistics and transport infrastructure.  It is fundamental to contextualize the evolution of logistics in the country in the past ten years.  This article proposes to analyze the utility of logistics in commercial processes in Costa Rica, as a way to evidence the contribution this discipline has had in the national development.
