Disgrifiad: | This paper problematizes the notion of ethnicity underlying in villancicos de negros that are sheltered in Guatemala’s Archidiocesan Historical Archive. Despite being musical pieces that project the idea of social harmony, they enable the emergence of identities in conflict with the colonial power, based on an ambivalent discourse that consolidates and naturalizes racial stereotypes. |
