| Opis: | Although lecture-based teaching is valuable, it presents limitations in addressing the diversity of learning styles, making it relevant to explore strategies such as the flipped classroom. The objective of this study was to analyze perceptions of learning and motivation among two groups of university students who studied bibliographic research techniques through active lecture-based teaching and the flipped classroom approach. This descriptive study, conducted using a mixed-methods approach, was implemented with two groups of students enrolled in the same course: one group addressed the content through traditional strategies, while the other used the flipped classroom methodology. Pre- and post-tests, as well as focus groups, were employed to explore students’ prior knowledge, experiences, and perceptions regarding their learning and motivation. The results show that, although both methodologies were positively evaluated, there was a preference for teaching strategies that promote a more active role for students. The flipped classroom fosters more active and participatory learning by encouraging greater autonomy and deeper understanding of the content. In comparison, active lecture-based teaching provides less interaction and limits the personalization of learning. |
