Descripción: | This reflective theoretical article addresses the question that gives it its title: What are the challenges of Social Sciences teachers when addressing the subject of Citizenship Education in their Latin American contexts? This question will be answered from the Peruvian reality, Chilean and Mexican reality, considering the national curriculum of each country, the presence of Citizenship Education or Citizenship in the curricular bases, the teaching experiences and the challenges that teachers have in their classrooms when teaching the subject. In addition to including reflections on the topics addressed by these subjects. The main conclusion is that the school is a real space for students to recognize themselves as subjects of rights and duties, connecting citizenship with their daily lives, so it for the school to give them with various opportunities to exercise citizenship. |
