Descripción:This article was developed within the framework of the project UNA Culture of Peace: ludo-pedagogic approach of persons deprived of liberty. The project was conducted with two groups of men deprived of liberty at the Reinaldo Villalobos Zúñiga Comprehensive Care Unit, which addressed the issues of culture of peace and masculinities. This experience arose from different needs identified by previous projects dedicated to the promotion of entrepreneurship in the population of two penitentiary centers: the Institutional Care Center in San Rafael de Alajuela, and the San Agustín Semi-Institutional Center in Heredia. The idea was to build a project that would respond to the promotion of coexistence based on a culture of peace since the presence of the dynamics of violence was detected in the relations of the population within the penitentiary centers. The execution of the project intended to promote the critical capacity in the target population, so that they could critically examine their cultural and moral frameworks, developing new positive skills (with gender approach and masculinities) in their relations with other people, both inside and outside the prison environment.
