Descripción:If public universities intend to participate in a legitimate and pertinent manner in the democratic transformation of Central American territories, they will need to confront a series of changes related to the overall academic offerings and their regional organization. Simultaneously, academics will need to reevaluate the role they play as intellectuals within the intricate circumstances that territorial actors currently navigate. These challenges are inherently political, albeit not in the traditional and prevailing sense. Instead, they relate to the politics of truth, which involves determining who should make decisions, under what conditions, and what the nature of the current progress in territorial transformations are. The article consists of two complementary parts. The first refers to strategic challenges, which address what needs to be done. The second pertains to tactical challenges, which contribute to how the prioritized changes should be implemented.
