Descripción:This work aims to verify that there is a situation of inequality between households headed by women and those headed by men in Costa Rica. For this, the variables of the time that both households dedicate to the different activities and the income received by the heads of household will be taken into account, based on the data of the sample obtained in the National Survey of Time Use 2017. We used the average of variables of the heads of household time and income data. As a result of the analysis, differences are verified in the time that male and female bosses dedicate to unpaid work and paid work, as well as differences in the remuneration they receive for their main activity. These evidences lead us to reflect on the need to implement public policies that compensate for the unequal situation suffered by households headed by women.
