Descripción: | This article’s contribution to the construction of a policy of extension and social action is based on a reflection on the epistemological basis of thought, knowledge, and interpretation for social action or extension of universities in the last two decades. These methodological approaches focus on what Robert Cox (1996) calls the opposing paradigms in the generation of knowledge, derived from the theory of problem-solving, an epistemological foundation of international organizations’ praxis, such as the OECD, which define the current development model. On the other hand, they also focus on a critical theory, which questions the fundamentals of this development model’s power structures, from a historical approach that reveals contradictions and inequalities. |
