Descripción:Abstract: The objective of this theoretical article is to analyze the concepts of individualism (IND) and collectivism (COL) from a sociocognitive perspective, as a psychological property of cultures, reviewing some of their implications in economic behavior. To this end, it begins by formulating its characteristics as a mental process influenced by culture, then they are analyzed from a sociocognitive perspective as cultural syndromes, and then some of its implications in the distribution of wealth are raised. Finally, it closes with a general reflective conclusion. The IND and COL show influence on behavior, specifically on the distribution of resources, since the studies reviewed here suggest that the IND tends to increase the human tendency to aversion to inequality.
