Dificultades ante la resolución de demostraciones y problemas que requieren razonamiento: el caso de estudiantes en formación docente y geometría

Descripción: | This article presents the results of a qualitative and descriptive research that aimed to determine the difficulties that students, in training for mathematics teachers, of the subject Euclidean Geometry I, present when solving demonstrations and problems that require reasoning and argumentation. For the study, five items were selected from the first ordinary test of the I quarter of 2019; The researchers classified the selected exercises and made a proposal according to their level of difficulty, which was subjected to review and evaluation by experts. Furthermore, the analysis was carried out based on two tables that allowed the information to be summarized: one for the items related to manifestations. and the other by reasoning, inventiveness and argumentation. Regarding the demonstrations, it was determined that they were able to recognize the hypotheses, definitions, postulates and theorems that allowed them to solve them, but they were not able to establish the logical inferences between them to correctly justify what was requested. Regarding the exercises that require reasoning and argumentation, it was evident that students presented greater difficulties, and that they generally used auxiliary elements that contributed little to the solution. The design and development of resources that contribute to the solution of the situations encountered is recommended, specifically, the implementation of pedagogical workshops with students is recommended |
