Descripción:The objective of the research was to determine the importance of management positions in higher education institutions based on the exercise of leadership through the dimensions of institutional management, teamwork, communication, conflict resolution and motivation in a Technological Institute in Mexico from the perception of administrative staff, teachers, and students. The type of study used was a quantitative methodology with a descriptive scope. The instrument found to obtain the information is a questionnaire based on a Likert scale. The results indicated that the main actors of the Institute recognize the relevance of the management of the current manager and his leadership as good, while the dimensions of teamwork, communication and conflict resolution implied a different assessment by administrators, teachers, and students. For their part, these actors agreed in evaluating the motivation dimension of the current manager as unfavorable. Therefore, a greater involvement on the part of the manager with the educational community is required through strategies oriented towards the establishment of support networks and workshops that affect continuous training that improve the educational organization to achieve institutional objectives.
