Virtual interviews with recipients of social policies in Córdoba, Argentina, 2020-2021: methodological reflections

| Descripción: | This article explores the methodological procedure of virtual interviews carried out in an empirical social research experience on social policies and 4.0 societies. The virtual interviews were carried out with recipients of social policies residing in cities in the interior of the province of Córdoba, Argentina, within the framework of the Preventive and Mandatory Social Isolation during 2020 and 2021. Forty interviews were carried out, identifying different phases in their implementation process. It is identified that social policies have incorporated, into their implementation processes, Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), and in the 21st century, social phenomena show signs of hybridity between the virtual/physical world. This directly impacts the techniques and procedures required for the study of social policies, which forces to review the strategies for approaching social issues. ICTs have become part of everyday practices, impacting identity, socialization, inequalities, and the ways in which science is conducted. In this framework, virtual interviews allow for the identification of data construction in an interaction where activities overlap and intersect, reshaping the traditional phases of face-to-face interviews and redefining interaction rules, enabling the centrality of informed consent in each phase. |
