The main issue is not just whether we will still be able to eat chocolate, but how we can support a sector on which between 40 and 50 million people depend worldwide, from Africa to Latin America by way of Asia. The cocoa value chain faces a range of challenges, and needs to adapt. CIRAD has pinpointed four priorities for the sustainable development of the chain and for informing the choices stakeholders need to make. |
