Environmental management and its relation to competitiveness: a study of micro, small and medium enterprises in the state of Yucatan, Mexico

Descripción:This article aims to present an analysis of the practice of environmental management in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) located in the state of Yucatan, Mexico, in terms of their relation to competitiveness. A study was conducted with a quantitative approach, with descriptive and correlational analysis. An instrument to collect data was applied to 399 managers. It was found that companies direct their efforts primarily at minimizing the consumption of energy, water and polluting raw materials. The results confirmed that there is a positive relationship in these companies between environmental management and competitiveness.
