Descripción:In this paper, a concept for the term “curricular coherence” is proposed as a product of the research named “Relating Education, Pedagogy, Curriculum and Didactic: the case of the re-certificated careers, of the University of Costa Rica, by SINAES in the period 2010-2014” inscribed in the Education Research Institute (INIE), in order to guide the analysis of the selected careers. Doing that, documentary information was consulted, some professors, of the analyzed careers, were interviewed as well as university authorities of teaching tasks. The author relates her previous knowledge with this theoretical and empirical recovery and proposes, in addition to the concept, a path to walk towards the coherence of the curriculum, both in the review of the curricula as well as in the daily didactic practice. A concept was obtained that, theoretically, guides the curricular and didactic task of the University of Costa Rica, as well as some theoretical resources. It is concluded that curricular coherence is necessary in the training of professionals and continuous improvement, as well as for the achievement of the Institutional Pedagogical Mandate.
