Descripción: | This is a study of the linguistic and pragmatic development of a group of students of English as a foreign language who wrote a series of messages to their professors. A group or professors and a group of students who are native speakers of English, as well as two groups of EFL students at the School of Modern Languages, all evaluated this development by judging the accuracy and the appropriateness of the messages. Results indicate that there is a difference of opinion among groups and within groups, that the justifications provided vary in their degree of elaboration, and that the EFL students identified as errors structures that were actually grammatical. |
