BREAKING THE FENCE. THE EXPERIENCE OF RADIO NOTICIAS DEL CONTINENTE IN COSTA RICA (1979-1981)

Descripción:The main purpose of this article is to analyze the experience of Radio Noticias del Continente (RNC) in Costa Rica among 1979 and 1981. RNC was an internationalist radio experience that managed to articulate with several political-military organizations, especially Nicaragua and El Salvador. The argentine dictatorship began to close RNC carrying out political, diplomatic and even direct military assaults in the facilities of the radio. The paper is divided into four sections; first, a brief introduction will be made by locating studies on armed struggle and clandestine communication  projects The main point in the second paragraph is to analyze the formation of RNC, his participants and the contacts established with organizations politician-military man and social. The following section will be about an analysis of the FORTI collection of the Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores y Culto (MREC) of Argentina that talked about RNC, as well as the argentine military presence in Costa Rica. Finally, the article aims to study the approach of the diplomatic change of the government of Carazo Odio, the diplomatic pressures of the Argentine dictatorship, and his entails with the “contra nicaragüense” for the attack against RNC.
